Cervical Smears

From June 2016, the age range and frequency for screening will change. From June 2016, the new age range for the Cervical Screening Programme will be 25 – 65 years for routine patients and up to 70 years for non routine patients. Women up to the age of 50 will be screened every 3 years and women between 50 – 65 will be screened every 5 years.

Baby and Surveillance Clinics

These clinics are run in conjunction with the Health Visitors and doctor. Please speak to our Health Visitors for information and inclusion. Health Visitors can be contacted via the Community Secretary.

Asthma Clinic

Patients will be invited by letter, if appropriate.

Ante-Natal Care

Our Midwives provide both pre-natal and ante-natal care. Please make an appointment by calling Maternity Services on 0131 536 2009.

Contraception

We offer a full range of contraceptive services within the practice. This includes fitting or removal of the contraceptive implant, fitting or removal of the coil, administration of the contraceptive injection or the prescribing of the oral contraceptive pill.

Our Practice Nurse is happy to see you for an initial assessment of your contraceptive needs and arrangements can then be made for the appropriate contraception to be put in place. In the absence of the Practice Nurse a GP will provide this service.

Please be aware that whilst it may be 3-4 weeks at least  before we can facilitate and appointment for a coil fitting or implant insertion, this is usually a lot quicker than having to access this via the Family Planning clinic out with the Health Centre.
